Hello! My name is Vince Overton. I am a Certified Spiritual Growth and Transformation Life Coach. What does that mean? It means that through a combination of formal training, education (BA in Business from Coe College), 14 years as a massage therapist, numerous entrepreneurial ventures, and deep wisdom gained from a ministry background and the "School of Hard Knocks" (life experience as father of 7 and grandfather of 6), I offer you insight and assistance in achieving your spiritual goals.

I was born a Baptist preacher's kid, raised in the church, served as a Pentecostal Associate Pastor, Prophetic Team Member and Worship Leader...but over time my beliefs changed from a traditional Christian view to a more expansive, inclusive understanding of our world and universe.  The turning point for me was the death of my son Isaac at age 11, which led me to reconsider my beliefs, my purpose, and how I could make a difference in people's lives.  All of this led to my "coming out" as a gay man in 2008. I became even more determined to help "set people free" to be themselves and follow their dreams. This growing desire led me to launch Deeper Water, where I now focus on helping individuals discover their authentic self and larger life purpose. I am excited to have my husband, Erik, join me in this new venture, coaching and guiding others as they find their way to freedom and authenticity.

Educational Foundations), numerous corporate leadership roles, and deep wisdom gained from ministry work and the School of Hard Knocks (life experience as a father of 3 and grandfather of 6), I offer you insight and assistance in achieving your spiritual goals.

 

I was born to an Irish Catholic mother and a

Protestant father of German descent.  I became a "born again" Christian when I turned 18 and served on the Prophetic Team, Worship Team, and went to seminary at Regent University, followed by five years as the Pastor of Adult Ministries & Administrator for a large metropolitan church. My turning point came as I became disillusioned and shocked by the hierarchical power structures in the religious community all around me. Over time I embraced a more expansive view of the universe - believing that everyone was born beautiful (not broken), worthy, and deserving of unconditional love and acceptance.  This new mindset led me to finally accept myself and "come out" as a gay man in 2022. I am so excited to join my husband, Vince, in coaching others to discover and celebrate their authentic self and life purpose, just as I was able to finally do in my own life.
